A Message from the Chairman:
Welcome Back,
The Duke College Republicans mobilize Republicans, Republican-leaning students, libertarians and all patriots toward political participation in national, state and local elections and in the affecting and moderation of university policy. This past election cycle yielded undesirable results for conservatives all across the country, and these results are something we must live with for the next four years. But the happenings of President Obama's first nine months should show (in the visibility of tea parties and town halls) that the 2008 election was no mandate, and his margin of victory not so wide. I, like many of you, am proud of what President Obama symbolizes, though as a mortal. I, like many of you, have saved the November 5th headlines announcing the President's historic victory. It was a proud moment for me, but by all means not the first time in my 20 years that I was proud of my country. I ask that you join us in the moderation of the President's far-left activism in any small way that you can. You can begin my joining us, the right side of Duke University and good politics. A true hero of the highest form, Senator John McCain's historic courage and premier experience (not only in comparison with the President's, but outstanding in and of itself) was made a mockery this past year at the hands of our generation. "We are the greatest force for good on this earth," he reminded us in the announcement of his 2008 candidacy.
